EBEL: Capital’s third defeat in a row

Red Bull Salzburg has won the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League’s third consecutive defeat of Vienna Capitals. The Salzburg team defeated the leader of the standings in Saturday’s game of the 16th season. The second round away thanks to two late goals 2:1.

The capitals that dominated the game looked like the winner for a long time after a goal from Riley Holzapfel (27th). A double pack of Manuel Latusa (56.) and John Hughes (57.) provided in the closing phase, however, still for the turnaround in favour of the guests. The almost unimaginative Salzburgers, who had lost most of their ideas in the long run, came to the fourth victory in a row thanks to the defending champion’s defeat, who promoted them to fourth place in the standings. The capitals had won the first duel of the season with 4:0.
