NFL: Media: Trade offers for Calvin Johnson

Is there a comeback of one of the best receivers of the last 15 years? Teams seem to be showing a renewed interest in Calvin Johnson – and are expected to enquire with the Detroit Lions.

Johnson, who has been retired for two years, was already a topic of rumours in the summer, and even then a potential comeback was discussed.

However, the rights of the 32-year-old receiver remain with the Lions – so any interested team must contact Detroit and negotiate a trade before Johnson is eligible to play for another franchise. According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, this is exactly what has happened in the meantime.

Specifically, two teams are said to have approached the Lions and asked about a trade. Detroit is said to have referred the interested parties directly to Megatron – but so far he has apparently not shown any interest in a return.

Johnson ended his career after the 2015 season with 731 regular seasons for 11,619 yards and 83 touchdowns. The trade window ends on Tuesday.
