Winter Sports: Restructuring: DSV relies on modern board model

The German Ski Association (DSV) is entering the Olympic Winter with new structures. In future, the association will be managed by a five-member board. The DSV supervisory boards and representatives of the national ski associations confirmed a corresponding contractual model.

Hubert Schwarz, the long-standing managing director of DSV Leistungssport GmbH, was elected as the spokesman of the board. Other members of the board of directors are the two sports directors Wolfgang Maier and Karin Orgeldinger, who were appointed as managing directors of Leistungssport GmbH in the course of the restructuring.

The two managing directors of DSV Marketing GmbH, Stefan Schwarzbach and Walter Vogel, are also members of the Management Board. Thomas Braun is now responsible for sports development.

“The board model is ultimately the logical further development of our modern association structures,” explained DSV President Franz Steinle:”From our point of view, the ever more complex tasks make it necessary to link the areas of competitive sports, marketing, communication and sport development even more closely than before.
