Olympia 2024: IOC appoints head of coordination commissions for Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028

The IOC has appointed the chairmen of the Games Coordination Commissions in Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028. On Monday, IOC President Thomas Bach appointed the Belgian Pierre-Olivier Beckers-Vieujant for the competitions in the French capital, while the Swiss Patrick Baumann will be responsible for coordination at the American venue.

The two IOC members are above all intended to “ensure an effective transition between the games”, said Bach.

“The two IOC Coordination Committees will assist the Organising Committees in implementing their own operational projects in line with the Olympic Agenda 2020.

The cooperation between the two cities is based on the principles of the Olympic Agenda 2020 and the “Games Management 2020”, which were established to reduce and simplify the costs of orientation.
