DEL: Nuremberg expands lead in the standings

The Nuremberg Ice Tigers have extended their lead in the standings in the DEL. The team of coach Rob Wilson won at home 2-1 (0-0,1-1,1-0) against the Augsburg Panther and increased their lead over Red Bull Munich (37) to four points with 41 points.

The American Drew LeBlanc (26th) put the guests in the lead at the beginning of the second period, which Nuremberg’s Leonhard Pföderl equalised ten minutes later. Philippe Dupuis secured the hosts’ 41st victory.

After three defeats in a row, the Cologne sharks managed to beat the ERC Ingolstadt 3:2 (0:2,1:0,1:0,1:0,1:0) in their own arena after penalty shooting. However, they missed the jump into the top six with 27 points and finished seventh behind Ingolstadt (28).

Two days after the clear 4-0 defeat of the Duesseldorf EC, the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven triumphed 4-1 (0-0,2-0,2-1) at the Schwenningen Wild Wings.
