NBA: Media: Dubs let Looney move in

The Golden State Warriors have decided not to take the option for the fourth year of Kevon Looney’s contract. The forward will thus become an Unrestricted Free Agent next summer.

ESPN reports this. Golden State saves $2.3 million in salary, which could potentially be used elsewhere. The Warriors are also likely to make Looney an offer themselves, but this should not exceed 2.3 million.

Golden State already has 127 million dollars in guaranteed contracts in its books for the coming season, divided among only seven players, so every dollar counts.

Looney had expressed himself hopefully on Monday:”I’m a little nervous, of course, but I can’t influence it,”he told Mercury News.”Either way, I’ll be there for the rest of the season.”

Looney was recruited from the Dubs 2015 at 30. position. In 60 NBA bets so far, he scored an average of 2.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in 8.1 minutes per game.
