NBA: Pop about Kawhi:”I’m not asking.”

Since the start of the season, the San Antonio Spurs have had to give up their superstar Kawhi Leonard, who has a quadriceps injury. Coach Gregg Popovich has given an update after his defeat against the Boston Celtics on Monday.

He did not know exactly when Leonard would be available to him again, said Popovich,”I don’t even ask. Seriously. When our medical staff tells me that he’s ready, I know he’s ready,”said the coach.

“He doesn’t like to be bothered with it all the time. I don’t want to talk about it all the time. The media ask, and I understand,”Popovich continued,”but I’m waiting for our medical staff. If they tell me he’s ready, I’ll look him up on the court and decide if I agree. Then we can talk about it. But the first step comes from the medical team.”

Leonard had already missed large parts of the preseason. Without their MVP candidate, the Spurs won the first four games of the season, but lastly they lost three games in a row.
