Handball: Jicha:”The pain was unbearable”

“My body no longer allowed me to play at my usual level,” Jicha told the Swiss gaze about the reasons for his career end this summer:”I had to be sincere with myself.

“The pain was unbearable,”continued the Czech. Sometimes it was so bad that he was not even able to take a walk with his family on days off.

Now the 35-year-old’s focus is finally on the family. Jicha promised his wife that he would return home more than stay in hotels.

However, it is not clear how long this will last. After all, the left backroom player wants to stay connected to handball,”I’ll probably try it as a coach sometime,”says Jicha.

Jicha came from St. Peter’s in 2005. Gall into the national league to the TBV Lemgo. Two years later, the man from Pilsen moved to THW Kiel and became one of the club’s most influential figures in eight years on the fjord. Most recently, Jicha was under contract with FC Barcelona for two years.
