NFL: Media: Cruciate ligament tear at Deshaun Watson?

Job’s message for Houston Texans: As NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reports, Rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson may have torn his cruciate ligament in training.

Watson, who has made an excellent start to his NFL career with 19 touchdowns and 8 interceptions so far, is said to have sustained the injury without contact with an opponent. Texans fear the worst: If the rupture of the cruciate ligament should happen, Watson’s season would be over.

Magnetic resonance imaging is intended to provide precise information on the severity of the injury. Watson’s backup at the Texans is Tom Savage.

The 22-year-old had won the National Championship last season at college with Clemson Tigers and was 12th from the Texans. in the draft. His best performance came in the narrow 38-41 Texan defeat of the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8. He was elected rookie of the month October.
