Olympia: Legkow case: Locked cross-country skiers move to CAS

After the lifelong blocking of the Olympic Games against the Russian cross-country skiing star Alexander Legkow, his German lawyer Christof Wieschemann has announced his visit to the CAS International Sports Court. There will be a request for an accelerated procedure, Wieschemann said on Thursday.

“I assume that Sascha will be at the World Cup opener on 24. November,”said Wieschemann. He does not expect the FIS World Ski Federation to declare suspension. He went to court with the IOC:”Investigator Richard McLaren stated in his report that he had no evidence for doping of individual athletes. The IOC makes decisions that go far beyond McLaren’s report. It’s too easy to make it that way.”

On Wednesday, the IOC had banned 50km Olympic champion Legkov and his team mate Yevgeny Belov from the Olympic Games in Sochi for life due to doping at the Winter Games in Sochi.
