Handball: Competition for DHB: Denmark and Switzerland apply for EM 2022 and 2024

Competition for the German European Championship application for 2024: Denmark and Switzerland have officially submitted their joint bid for the men’s European Championship finals in 2022 and 2024 to the European umbrella organisation EHF.

This was announced by the Swiss Handball Association (SHV) on Friday and the EHF Congress in June 2018 will decide on the awarding of the tournaments.

Only last weekend, the German Handball Federation (DHB) decided to concentrate on a single application for 2024. A joint campaign with Denmark and Switzerland for the 2022 tournament was also planned.

“The application is not only justified, but I also hope that 30 years after the European Women’s Championships in Germany we will be able to have a good event,”said EHF President Michael Wiederer on the DHB’s application at the recent Association Day.
