The Cleveland Cavaliers are in a small crisis at the beginning of the season. The Cavs have lost the last four games in a row. Dwyane Wade compared the situation with that of the Miami Heat in 2014.
“I don’t know how we made it to the finals back then,”Wade recalled in conversation with ESPN the Miami Heat of 2014 and compared it to the current situation at the Cavs,”It was even worse then because we didn’t have any new players. Miami lost the finals 1-4 against San Antonio Spurs in the final four times in a row,” he said. In the summer LeBron James left South Beach and returned to Cleveland.
Wade drew parallels to a bad marriage in which jokes were no longer funny and people were fed up with each other. Wade doesn’t see that with the current Cavs team,”We have some players here who have never been to the finals and are hungry because of that. Isaiah Thomas or Derrick Rose are two examples.”
These are all signs for Wade that the Cavs are finding ways out of the small crisis of the last few games “Here, no one is a rookie anymore. Everyone has experienced ups and downs. But we must now find solutions and I think we will.”
The Cavs are on balance after eight games with a score of 3-5. The past four games have all been lost. The opponents were the Brooklyn Nets, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers. The night after Saturday we’re off against the Washington Wizards.
