Handball: CL: Lions win in Szeged – third German victory

The Bundesliga can look back on a successful week in the Champions League. On Sunday, the German champion Rhein-Neckar Löwen won Group A with 34:31 (19:14) at Pick Szeged in Hungary and won his third German victory after the SG Flensburg-Handewitt (33:28 against Celje) and THW Kiel (25:24 in Brest).

With a solid team performance, the lions were led by their outstanding director Andy Schmid (10 goals) in Szeged from the very beginning.

In a game played at high speed on both sides, the Hungarian hosts came a little closer in the final stages, but the lions’ victory was never in danger.

As a result, the Mannheim team are now second in Group A behind reigning Champions League winner HC Vardar Skopje from Macedonia.

In Group B, Flensburg is third behind Hungarian representatives MKB Veszprem and PSG Handball. Kiel follows after Meshkow Brest in fifth place.

On the 11th. Flensburg has to play in Brest on November 12th, Kiel will play in Brest on November 12th. November against Celje. Also on 12. On November 11th, the lions will play for FC Barcelona.
