Golf: Cejka misses the tournament victory only in the jump-off

Alex Cejka missed his second victory of his career on the US tour at the Las Vegas tournament only very thinly. The 46-year-old first had to admit defeat to the American Patrick Cantlay in the jump-off and together with South Korean player Whee Kim he took second place.

Previously, Cejka had managed to move up from 29th place on the Par-71 course with an outstanding final round of 63.

It’s a bit disappointing,”said Cejka, who won the Puerto Rico Open in 2015 and is the only German golfer ever to triumph in a tournament alongside Bernhard Langer and Martin Kaymer.

Rookie Stephan Jäger (28) also finished the tournament with a positive experience. The Munich player stayed three strokes below par in his final round and came from 41st place to 20th place. Place forward. With a total of 281 hunters needed six strokes more than compatriot Cejka after four rounds. In his third tournament on the US tour, it was Jäger’s best place so far.
