Basketball: debut as national basketball coach: Rödl warns against Georgia

Henrik Rödl expects a real test for his team in his first appearance as a national basketball coach. The 24th. On November 19 at 7.30 pm, the 48-year-old successor to Chris Fleming will meet Georgia at the start of the World Cup qualifying round with the selection of the DBB.

“We will face a very physical team that we must not underestimate,”said Rödl on Tuesday in Chemnitz. The game takes place in the newly created qualification windows. In two rounds, a total of 32 European teams will be competing for the twelve coveted places for the World Cup from 31st to 30th December. August until 15. September 2019 in China.

The first phase will end in July 2018, in which European Championship quarter-finalist Germany will play six matches and meet Georgia and Austria as well as Serbia. Three out of four teams are making progress. Should the German team qualify for the World Cup, this would be the first participation since 2010.
