NFL: McAdoo does not exclude Manning-Benching

The crisis of the New York Giants is omnipresent. Coach Ben McAdoo was asked in a press conference on Monday after the 17:51 defeat of the Los Angeles Rams how long quarterback Eli Manning will be his starter. McAdoo did not declare himself the two-time Super Bowl Champion.

McAdoo answered the question whether Eli Manning is “his quarterback” as follows:”Eli is our quarterback. But that doesn’t mean we don’t throw in another player at a certain point and give him time to play,”says McAdoo,”We have to be able to rely on every player in every position. If we lose in a way like yesterday, it’s just not good enough.”

Manning and the Giants are on balance at 1-7 after a catastrophic start to the season. The veteran has lost three of his best receivers for the rest of the season, as well as arm strength and accuracy in downfield passes. Among others Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall.

Although Manning throws the best completion and interception percentages of his career, the chances of a postseason move are very low. Rumors have been heard that the franchise is already thinking about the time after Manning.

In the current squad, the former Jet Geno Smith and Rookie Davis Webb are available to the Giants. Webb was drawn in the third round of drafts.
