Alpine Skiing: Progress, but still uncertain about Hirscher launch in Levi

Marcel Hirscher’s start at the World Cup season opener of the alpine ski men in Levi is still uncertain. After test runs of the Salzburger with successively higher load, pain was again felt in the left ankle. The tendency is currently to forego the start at the slalom on Sunday, according to his support team on Thursday.

According to him, further progress has been made, but the Salzburgers is not yet ready to compete in a World Cup race. The final decision could theoretically be made until Saturday, since it is also possible to arrive one day before the first race of the season.

However, a decision is expected on Friday. In order to be as well prepared as possible for the event of a start, service technician Thomas Graggaber travelled to the Finnish ski resort on Thursday.
