Boxing: Wladimir Klitschko receives Bambi in the Sports category

Great honour for former boxing world champion Vladimir Klitschko (41): The Ukrainian, who resigned in August, will be on 16th place. Bambi was awarded the Bambi in the Sports category in Berlin on November 11.

“Vladimir Klitschko is one of the most successful boxers of all time and has been the heavyweight world champion for many years. As an athlete, he stands for endurance, discipline and fairness, as a boxer for his intelligent technique, his hard right straight line and one of the best jabs in boxing history,”said the Bambi jury on Thursday.

After 64 victories in 20 years – 54 of them by knockout – and only five defeats, Klitschko had ended his career in August. He lost his last fight in April at London’s Wembley Stadium against Anthony Joshua from Britain in the eleventh round with Technische K. o.

Bambi is Germany’s most important media prize. The ARD broadcasts the show on 16. November from 8.15 pm live from the Theater am Potsdamer Platz in Berlin.
