MLB: Red Sox mourns the loss of Daniel Flores

The Boston Red Sox mourn their catcher Daniel Flores. The 17-year-old died on Wednesday after complications had occurred during his cancer treatment.

“Everyone in the club was shocked to hear of Daniel’s tragic death,”said Dave Dombrowski, Red Sox President of Baseball Operations. Until recently, the cancer was kept secret from the public.

Just last year, Flores moved from Venezuela to Boston for $3.1 million and was regarded as a great catcher’s hope for the future.
