NBA: LeBron on GOAT debate:”Barbershop Talk”

LeBron James is in his 15th birthday. NBA season, but he doesn’t want to think about the end of his career. In an interview with SLAM Magazine, he also talked about the debate about who is the best player of all time. On Friday night James and the Cavs meet the Rockets (from 2 o’ clock on DAZN).

James first of all confirmed that he is “still in championship mode”:”Sometimes these things can happen, sometimes they can’t. But you can be sure that you’re doing your best and hopefully at the end of the day you’ll have a chance to win a title.”

As long as I still love the game, I have a responsibility to do everything for the game,”James continued. And I love the game, I love the training, I love the competition, I love the league. And I don’t see any sign of slowing down. I’ll keep going as long as I can.”

However, the 32-year-old also emphasized that his career cannot continue indefinitely and that there is already a lot of discussion about his place in the All-Time Ranking of NBA history. But it is more important for him to remember “than one of the most selfless players in history”.

“As someone who didn’t have to be altruistic – but it was part of the DNA,”says James,”The players were more important to me than anything else, and there was never a moment when I wouldn’t have given it all. And what you’ll always be able to say is that I was a champion. Nobody can take that away from me anymore.”

The GOAT debate, on the other hand, doesn’t interest him:”I call it the Barbershop Talk”, James said,”This will happen no matter what it’s about and whether you like it. Even with Muhammad Ali, the real GOAT, this happens. Is he better, or is he Floyd Mayweather? Is Tom Brady better or Joe Montana or Aaron Rodgers or Peyton Manning? Is ham cheese better than peanut butter and jam? There’s no direct comparison, but people talk about it. This is Barbershop Talk.”

“For me personally, it’s all about getting the most out of it,”James explained,”hopefully people will end up talking about one of the best qualities you’ve ever had, not something that doesn’t matter at all.”
