DEL: DEG and penguins are increasing

The Düsseldorf-based EC and Krefeld Penguins have improved their staff once again. While DEG has secured a Canadian defender from the Swedish league, the Krefeld team in the DEL2 are making use of it.

According to the Düsseldorfers, the Canadian Kevin Marshall will reinforce the defence of the eight-time champions. The 28-year-old comes from Rögle BK from the Swedish league, but was last borrowed from the second division club IK Oskarshamn.

“Kevin Marshall should give our defensive with his routine and quality further support,”said DEG coach Mike Pellegrims. In the 2011/2012 season, Marshall had played in ten games for the Philadelphia Flyers.

Than tables-13. DEG has only 22 points after 20 games and is still lagging behind its own goals.

The Krefeld Penguins have responded to the injury by signing defender Alex Trivellato, Italian international from EC Bad Nauheim, and the two strikers Matt MacKay from the Heilbronn Falcons and Tim Miller from the Dresden Ice Lions.

All three of them have a German passport and have already been used in the DEL:”Without the additional obligations, we would have gone on the gums,”said co-trainer Marian Bazany.

The Krefeld team, on the other hand, will leave midfielder Nikolas Linsenmaier for good. The 24-year-old, who has been loaned out to the EHC Freiburg in the DEL2 in the course of the current season, has asked for the contract to be terminated.
