Heavy blow to the Seattle Seahawks! In the 22:16 win over the Arizona Cardinals in the Thursday Night Game of Week 10, star-cornerback Richard Sherman tore the Achilles tendon and will miss the rest of the season.
Late in the third quarter it had happened: The injury happened in connection with a situation between Sherman and Wide Receiver John Brown. Still on the sidelines, Sherman was seen telling his teammate that he had torn his Achilles tendon.
“He will be examined in more detail, but the doctors are very sure that he has torn his Achilles tendon,” said Head Coach Pete Carroll after the match.
I basically knew what the play was, I wanted to try to catch the ball,”Sherman said to the situation:” I wanted to catch an interception. We were in cover two, and when I threw it all in, I knew what had happened.”
Sherman told reporters that he had already contracted the actual Achilles injury that he had shown up on the Injury Report during the week’s 16:10 victory over the Rams in Week 5. He stated that he had tried to get it under control with breaks, but he had been aware that the final crack was inevitable.
