Golf: Cejka in Playa del Carmer ninth

Alex Cejka (Munich) has again presented himself formally strong on the US tour, but lost his second absolute top result within a week on the final course.

One week after second place in the jump-off in his adopted country Las Vegas, the 46-year-old finished ninth in Playa del Carmen/Mexico.

At the last hole Cejka played a double bogey and dropped back with a 69 lap. With 273 strokes, Cejka was eight strokes behind winner Patton Kizzire (USA/265) after four rounds of the $7.1 million tournament.

Stephan Jäger had not survived the cut after two rounds. The Munich rookie had achieved his best position in the last week with rank 20.
