NFL: Clayborn scores 6 sacks against Dallas

The Atlanta Falcons’ 27:7 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10 was dominated by one: Defensive End Adrian Clayborn, who narrowly missed an all-time record.

The cowboys started without their left tackle Tyron Smith and quarterback Dak Prescott got to know what that means: Prescott had to take eight sacks in all. Six of these were accounted for by Clayborn alone.

With six sacks, Clayborn had only one less than Derrick Thomas, who in 1990 won the Kansas City Chiefs’ seven against the Seattle Seahawks and quarterback Dave.

In addition to Clayborn, six sacks in one game also managed Thomas in 1998 (Chiefs against Raiders), Osi Umenyiora for the New York Giants against the Philadelphia Eagles 2007 and Fred Dean for the San Francisco 49ers against the New Orleans Saints in 1983.
