NFL: Philip Rivers reports concussion symptoms

The Los Angeles Chargers have put quarterback Philip Rivers into the Concussion protocol after he himself complained about cerebral concussion symptoms. His status for the game in Week 11 against the Buffalo Bills is unclear.

Head coach Anthony Lynn explained on Monday after the overtime bankruptcy against the Jacksonville Jaguars that he saw “no sign at all” at Rivers that he had suffered a concussion.

It is also unclear when he might have contracted the injury. After his interception towards the end of the match, River’s Cornerback A. J. Bouye tacked and thus prevents a Pick-Six. He didn’t collect one bag, but five QB hits.

The 35-year-old has not been injured so far this year and has not missed a game in the NFL and for the Chargers since 2006. His strand of 185 starts in series is currently the second longest behind Eli Manning, who is in series at 208 starts.

Should Rivers fail on Sunday, Backup Kellen Clemens would be the most likely starter. Another alternative would be Cardale Jones.
