Basketball: EuroCup: Ulm on the brink of retirement

The former basketball cup winner ratiopharm Ulm is on the verge of defeat in the EuroCup. At the Turkish first division club Tofas Sportklub, the Ulm team lost 84:100 (47:49) and are the last of Group D.

Despite a two-digit lead in the second quarter, coach Thorsten Leibenath’s team lost for the fourth time in the sixth game. Especially in the final section (17:26) Ulm was unable to keep up with the two-time Turkish champion from Bursa.

Da’ Sean Butler won the German runner-up in 2016 with 17 points. On the Turkish side, two players in Pierria Henry (26) and Tony Crocker (22) scored more than 20 points.
