Derek Jeter commented on Wednesday on the situation around outfielder Giancarlo Stanton. The CEO of Miami Marlins emphasized that a trade of the MVP candidate was not carved in stone.
At the GM meetings in Orlando/Florida, Jeter stood up to the reporters and made it clear that no stanton trade had been declared publicly by the franchise so far. Jeter admitted, however, that the Marlins have to “fix some financial things”.

The organization is in contact with Stanton, but still:” Michael Hill is in contact with him. Michael spoke to him. That’s his job. He’s the President of Baseball Operations, so he spoke to him. It’s not that there’s radio silence from the organization’s direction.”
