DEL: Munich misses lead in the standings – Berlin stays on top of the table

The German champion Red Bull Munich missed the leap to the top of the DEL standings. The team of coach Don Jackson lost the Schwenninger Wild Wings surprisingly 2:5.

After 21 matches, Nuremberg is leading the standings with 44 points, ahead of Munich (43). The polar bears Berlin (42) have maintained their connection to the top duo. The former champion added the eighth consecutive defeat to the ERC Ingolstadt with a score of 6:1.

The former serial champion Adler Mannheim had to accept a damper after five victories in series. At the Krefeld Penguins the eagles lost 2:6 (1:2,0:2,1:2) after the lead.

In Munich, the majority of the 4250 spectators were stunned when the Red Bulls fought back 3-0 against outsiders Schwenningen after less than five minutes. Daryl Boyle’s (9th) and Maximilian Kastner’s (46th) goals weren’t enough to keep the gap going.

The guests from Ingolstadt got off to a better start in Berlin, but conceded five goals in the second and third period. Jamison Macqueen (33-51) scored twice for Berlin. In Krefeld, Marcel Müller and Justin Feser (both 46th) with their goals in the final period ensured the decision.
