Handball: Flensburgs Röd fails for two months

The German handball runner-up SG Flensburg-Handewitt has to do without backroom player Magnus Röd (20) for at least two months. The Norwegian suffered a break in the middle hand of his left throwing hand on Thursday at the 38-23 victory against rising star TV Hüttenberg. This was announced by the club on Friday.

Röd underwent surgery in Flensburg on Friday morning and has already been able to leave the hospital again,”In the event of such an injury, we expect to see a failure of at least eight weeks,”said SG team doctor Thorsten Lange. Flensburg climbed through the victory with 21:5 points past champion Rhein-Neckar Löwen (20:4) to second place.
