Handball: EHF-Cup: Foxes on course Group stage

The Foxes Berlin have made a big step towards the group stage in the EHF-Cup. The leader of the German Handball Bundesliga standings prevailed in the first leg of the third qualifying round against Portugal’s FC Porto with 30:27 (14:12).

This is enough for the last year’s finalist in the second leg on 25 March. At home in November, I was also defeated with two goals to make it through.

“That was a very hard game. It took us ten to fifteen minutes to get into the game and find the right attitude. We were too unconcentrated in many actions,”said Fox trainer Velimir Petkovic:”Nevertheless, we have managed to gain a small advantage and now have good chances of advancing”.

The only drawback was the injury to back-room player Drago Vukovic, who was killed in the 36th minute. I had to leave the field with a knee injury. A diagnosis was not yet available.

The group stage starts on the 10th day. February 2018. In the last three years, the winner of the EHF-Cup has always been from the Bundesliga, as in 13 of the last 14 seasons. Defending champion is Frisch Auf Göppingen.
