Joakim Noah is not currently used for the New York Knicks, even if his lock is over. The Frenchman now spoke to the New York Post about his difficult situation.
Before Noah, the Knicks rotation currently includes Enes Kanter, Kyle O’ Quinn and Willy Hernangomez. Noah himself hasn’t been on the court for a minute this season and coach Jeff Hornacek recently said he didn’t plan to change the rotation:”This is my reality,”Noah said.
“I’ll be all right. I understand the situation and try to make the best of it,”said Noah,”I try to see what happens from day to day and wait and see what happens,” he said, leaving the defensive player of the year of 2014 untradictable whether he would prefer a buyout in the interview because of his $72 million contract.
He admitted that he would probably not be able to play at the level of earlier days “I probably can’t do that. But neither is it about being who I was three or four years ago. I think I could help this team today, too. But I don’t know. I haven’t played for ten months,”Noah said.
The center was last on the court at the beginning of February, before he injured his thigh. About two months later, the NBA announced that he had been suspended due to the use of a banned substance. This suspension only expired a week ago. Now he’s healthy, but not part of the Knicks plans.
I’ve seen a lot of ups and downs in this league,”explained Noah,” I’ve been in the big games, in the playoffs, I’ve been through a lot. I’m trying to help with my experience. It makes a difference whether you have already experienced something or not.”
