NBA: Mavs end dry spell – Warriors spectacular

The Dallas Mavericks win against the Bucks with a triple rainfall including a franchise record – after almost two weeks, Dirk Nowitzki and Co. the first victory again. The Warriors are burning down a fireworks display in Philadelphia and fighting their way back from a 24-point gap. The Hornets and Jazz also finish their defeat series. Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets are doing really well at the moment.

After this success against the guests from the City of Angels, the predominant feeling in the cabin of the Hornets was above all relief:”We really needed this victory,”said a free Kemba Walker. After six defeats in a row, this statement can be easily signed.

Barely 24 hours after Walker’s 47-point explosion against the Bulls, the Point Guard helped his team win this time with 26 points (6/9 threesomes) and 6 assists. At the same time, the game was quite balanced into the fourth quarter. Charlotte didn’t leave until the final section. The decisive factor was the good defensive performance: L. A. met only 6 of his 20 attempts in the last round and achieved 5 turnovers.

“I think we were a little tired today,”Austin Rivers tried to find an explanation:”Our effort could have been better, but we were just tired” The clippers were already on the floor the night before, but the back-to-back may not really be an excuse.

Lou Williams was still the best of the guests with 25 points from the bank. Blake Griffin scored 19 points and 8 rebounds, DeAndre Jordon contributed a double-double (10 points, 14 rebounds). However, this did not change anything about the eighth defeat in a row. Against Walker as well as Jeremy Lamb (17 points) or Dwight Howard (16 points, 16 rebounds) the Clippers had too little to oppose in the final phase of the game.

If it’s running, it’s just running. Obviously, this also applies to Rodney Hood, who beat the 30-point hurdle for the second time in the past three games with 31 points – and thus also led Jazz to the 40-point dismantling of Magic and thus to the first away win of the season,”I just love playing basketball. I’m currently in the flow and I’m just having fun,”was Hood’s simple explanation.

It doesn’t seem to matter whether the shooting guard starts or comes from the bank. Hood has already been on the scene 10 times this season from the very beginning, but coach Quin Snyder put the 25-year-old on the bench against Orlando. That didn’t change his dominant appearance.

In just 26 minutes Hood pocketed 7 threes (by 13 attempts), in a phase towards the end of the third quarter he even scored 19 points at a time! At that time, however, the game was already over. Already at the halftime the Jazz had a 63:48 lead. After a strong third section (34:19) the matter was eaten.

In addition to Hood, Derrick Favors (25 points, 11 rebounds) and Jonas Jerebko (15 points, 6 rebounds) also performed well. The hosts were still Aaron Gordon with 18 points and 9 rebounds best man, but otherwise the Magic disappointed all along the line. Head coach Frank Vogel even saw “the worst game of the season”. He was probably right about that.

What a game in Philadelphia! After only about five minutes, the fans at the Wells Fargo Center were completely out of their minds – and they were not expected to make any changes until halfway through the match. Led by the strong Joel Embiid (21 points, 8 rebounds) and Ben Simmons (23 points, 12 assists, 8 rebounds) the young Sixers overran the reigning champion by all rules of the art.

After the first 12 minutes it was already 47:28 for Philly, Simmons and Co. had already hammered 8 out of 12 threesomes through the Reuse and hit a total of nearly 75 percent out of the field. Halfway through the sixties, Robert Covington (5 threesomes) and J. J. J. had a great time. Redick increased her lead by 20 points to 22 (74:52).

I was already extremely aggressive in the first quarter, but I just didn’t hit the throws,”Stephen Curry explained the initial problems. The latter, however, changed after the break. While the “Trust the Process”-calls slowly but surely fell silent in the arena, Curry caught fire. Golden State, for their part, laid down a 47-point cut-off and the game was already in progress.

With a 10-point lead, the Dubs finally entered the final round. However, Golden State did not want to miss the victory any more, with Curry outperforming Curry, who scored 35 points (11/22 FG) despite the initial problems mentioned above, and also played 5 rebounds and 5 assists each. Kevin Durant scored 27 points, David West scoring 14 points from the bench and said,”We were out of focus in the first half,” said head coach Steve Kerr after the match,”We needed this embarrassment of being blown off the field in order to get going.
