NFL: NFL plays annually in Mexico until 2021

The NFL will play a game annually in Mexico City until 2021. This was announced by the League and the Mexican Ministry of Tourism on Sunday, on the fringes of this year’s game in the capital between the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots.

The previous agreement provided for an annual game until 2018, the new deal secures the game of the International Series from 2019 to 2021. The exact formalities and the signing of the contracts are to be clarified and completed at a later date.

The Ministry of Tourism emphasized the importance of high-class sporting events as a flagship event for Mexican tourism at home and abroad.

Such events benefited both the city and the country by supporting the tourism sector and providing the country with a platform to advertise in the markets, which are mainly considered to be tourist destinations.
