National player Korbinian Holzer celebrated his third victory in the last four games with the Anaheim Ducks in the NHL. The Californians prevailed over the Florida Panthers with a 3-2 win, thanks to Goalie John Gibson, who scored 50 shots against his goal.
At Anaheim, which now has direct access to the play-off ranks in the west, Holzer (29) played a minor role. In his eighth run of the season, the Munich player only managed to score just under five minutes. Prior to the game, the Ducks legends Teemu Selänne and Paul Kariya were honored for their achievements, both of whom were recently admitted to the Hall of Fame.
The New York Islanders lost to Carolina Hurricanes 2-4 after three wins in the Carolina Hurricanes. The goalkeeper Thomas Greiss, who had scored three goals, was represented by the Slovakian Jaroslav Halak. Defender Dennis Seidenberg was also not on duty. Nevertheless, the Islanders are still on a play-off course in the east.
