MLB: Shoulder surgery at Aaron Judge

Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees underwent surgery on Monday. According to the team, loose particles in the joint were removed during the arthroscopic procedure and the cartilage was cleansed. However, the outfielder should be fit for jumping training.

It was the right-handed man’s left shoulder. Already during the final phase of last season Judge was repeatedly seen with big ice packs to cool the left shoulder after games.

Judge always played down a possible shoulder injury throughout the year, although he started the second half of the season with a longer period of weakness and only beat in 44 games. 179. Prior to that, he won 30 home runs and 66 RBI as well as the Homerun Derby in the first half.

Judge ended the year with 52 home runs and the American League’s Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award.
