The Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) is responding to reports of sexual assaults in the 1970s with preventive measures. According to the ÖSV, the Conference of Presidents on Wednesday unanimously adopted a package of precautionary measures following a broad discussion on “the issue of sexual assaults in sport 45 years ago” by Nicola Werdenigg.
Petra Kronberger, ÖSV Vice President Roswitha Stadlober, who was already installed in 2015 by ÖSV CEO Peter Schröcksnadel, will be available to assist women’s representative Petra Kronberger, according to a statement by the association. Furthermore, the ÖSV wants to continue taking all possible measures to prevent possible assaults and sexual harassment, and when violations become known, they want to take action with “all harshness”, was stressed.
In addition, all supervisors are to be informed again and asked to treat the active members with the necessary respect. In the future, the topic will also be dealt with more intensively in the training of trainers, the Ski Association explained.
