Winter sports: Russian cross-country skiing sextet may start in the World Cup for the time being

The six Russian cross-country skiers, who have been banned from the Olympics, are allowed to compete in the World Cup for the time being. This was announced by the FIS one day before the start of the Olympic season.

“The FIS Doping Committee will have to wait until the IOC Disciplinary Commission’s reasoned decision is available before taking any further action in the cases,”the FIS announced on Thursday.

Previously, the World Ski Federation had listened to the athletes around Sochi winner Alexander Legkov once again.

At the beginning of November, the IOC Legkov, Yevgeny Belov, Maxim Vylegshanin, Alexei Petukhov, Yulia Ivanova and Yevgeniya Shapovalova had suspended the Olympic Games in all their functions for life.
