NHL: Grabner-Tor in the Austrian duel

Michael Grabner was the clear winner in the Austrian duel with Thomas Vanek on Sunday in the North American ice hockey league NHL. Grabner scored a 4-3 win with the New York Rangers after a penalty shoot-out against Vancouver Canucks and scored a goal. Vanek prepared a goal, but missed his penalty shootout attempt.

Grabner scored a 2-2 tie in Madison Square Garden after 19 seconds of the final period and is Rangers’ second best scorer with his tenth goal of the season. Only 41 seconds later, Vanek scored the Canucks’ 3-2 lead goal in front of his striker Sam Gagner. With eleven assists he and Brock Broeser are the best preparation of his team.

Matchwinner for the “Blueshirts” was Jimmy Vesey, who scored the match in extra time (46th) and scored the decisive penalty. Vanek was the first marksman to be defeated by Rangers goalkeeper Henrik Lundqvist.
