Tobogganing: Loch wins sprint race in Winterberg

Olympic luge champion Felix Loch triumphed in the first sprint race of the season one day after his second place at the home World Cup in Winterberg.

The 28-year-old from Berchtesgaden won ahead of the Russian Semen Pawlitschenko and Nico Gleirscher from Austria. Ralf Palik narrowly missed the podium in fourth place, Andi Langenhan finished tenth.

Loch had already shone the previous day at the Winterberg weather lottery. In the home World Cup, which was influenced by snowfall and high humidity, the twelve-time World Champion drove from tenth to second place in the second race.

The races of the Sprint World Cup will be the end of the weekend at four World Cup stations this season and will be included in the overall standings. The decision is made in just one run.
