Boxing: Charr asks Joshua:”No excuses”

Manuel Charr is self-confident after his victory over Alexander Ustinov. The new WBA World Champion wants to compete against Anthony Joshua.

“I’m the best, I just want to fight the best,”Charr said at the press conference in Oberhausen, which followed his victory. The Diamond Boy is not afraid of big names:”As the world champion there are no more excuses. I want to meet you in the ring.”

It’s Anthony Joshua. The Briton won in April 2017 against Vladimir Klitschko and thus secured the world championship titles of WBA and IBO. In October he successfully defended his belts against Carlos Takam – he would also go into the duel against Charr as a clear favourite.

The WBA champion had challenged Joshua before, but at that time the plans failed due to cost factors. The message now is very clear:”I want Anthony Joshua”, which Tyson Fury also challenged.
