Jahlil Okafor is on the siding of the Philadelphia 76s. The former No. 3-Pick suffers from this and wishes to be sent away. He also criticized the NBA business and Philly’s handling of his situation.
Okafor plays no role in the rotation of Coach Brett Brown and is considered a trade candidate. But so far, there’s been no deal. Okafor criticized ESPN:”You should send me somewhere where I can get a real chance. I did everything they asked me to do. That’s why I want a trade or buyout. I hope something will come up, and I’ll do it as soon as possible.”
Most recently, the Big Man was not even allowed to play in the garbage time, although the fans of the Sixers challenged him with speaking choruses. It’s my third year in the NBA,”he explained,” and I know that the NBA is a business – whether fair or not, I don’t know. But I’ve talked to a lot of other players and leaders in the league, and they all told me that it’s not right how to deal with me.”
GM Bryan Colangelo told ESPN about the Okafor situation:”We appreciate the commitment that Okafor is showing for us. And even though he’s been frustrated lately, he is patiently waiting for his chance to play. I will continue to look for ways to resolve it for everyone.”
