The Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Federation IBSF continues to intervene after the decision of the Oswald Commission of the IOC. The IBSF suspended an already resigned quintet around the two-time Sochi Olympic champion Alexander Subkow (Bob) provisionally. All five ex-athletes are therefore not allowed to take part in IBSF events in any capacity.
All five ex-athletes are therefore not allowed to take part in IBSF events in any capacity.
In addition to Subkov, currently president of the Russian bobsleigh and skeleton federation, the blockade hits its former pusher Aleksei Negodailo and Dimitrij Trunenkov.
Also suspended are former skeleton rider Sergei Chudinov and former bobsleigh driver Olga Stulnewa. All five of them have the right to be heard and to object.
The ex-athletes had been expelled from the Olympic Games in all functions for life by Executive Director Denis Oswald’s IOC Commission on the basis of the McLaren report.
Unlike the World Ski Federation FIS, which has the cross-country skiers banned by the IOC starting in the World Cup, the IBSF is sanctioning its athletes. Last week, the World Federation had already blocked a quartet around Sochi Olympic champion Alexander Tretyakov and bronze winner Yelena Nikitina (both skeleton) for the World Cup.
