EuroLeague: Again no victory in Moscow: Bamberg loses at Chimki

The German champion Brose Bamberg must continue to wait in the EuroLeague for his first victory in Moscow. At the Russian runners-up Chimki, Bamberger lost 73:82, but failed to catch up with Valencia Basket and FC Barcelona.

Chimki’s top scorer Alexej Schwed in particular caused problems for coach Andrea Trinchieri’s team:”We were solid, we played well and were on the last quarter. Then Sweden came and gave us the rest,”Trinchieri said.

Guests who went into the match rested after a week’s break due to the national match window were only able to equalise the second quarter in front of 5351 spectators in the Mytischi Arena.

The best thrower of the Bamberg team was Ricky Hickman with 21 points, Schwed scored 26 points. After the fifth defeat in the tenth game, Bamberg is now behind the playoff places.

The best eight out of 16 teams will be in the next round. Bamberg had not yet won either ZSKA or Chimki in the EuroLeague.
