Olympic Games 2012: Russians Nasarova and Gushchina disqualified

The two Russian track and field athletes Anna Nasarova and Julia Gushchina were found to be doping offenders in night tests at the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London and disqualified retroactively. This was announced by the IOC on Thursday.

In Nasarova, fifth in long jump, and Gushchina, 15. over 400 m and silver medal winner with the 4×400 m relay, dehydrochloromethyl testosterone (oral-turinabol) was detected.

The re-testing of Russian athletes from the 2012 games has been completed. A total of 226 samples were examined and 21 penalties were imposed. Up to now, a total of 584 samples have been retested.
