Ice hockey: VSV reacts to downswing

The Austrian ice hockey club Villacher SV broke up with coach Greg Holst on Sunday evening shortly after the 2:4 home defeat against Innsbruck.

The club’s top management responded to the recent downswing of the Carinthians, who only scored four points in the seven EBEL games since the international match break and are currently only ninth in the standings.

His successor is, at least for the time being, co-trainer Markus Peintner, as club chairman Ulf Wallisch confirmed to APA. The SAAM announced further information for Monday.

The 63-year-old Canadian-born Holst has been head coach of the Villacher for almost two years and was their last master coach in 2006.
