For the Buffalo Bills, the season continues to run in an unattractive direction. After the quarterback exchange debacle, the Bills may be forced to trust Rookie Nathan Peterman after the bankruptcy against the Patriots: Tyrod Taylor had to step out injured against the division’s rival.
Taylor had to leave the final quarter with a knee injury, but apparently he had problems with his knee several times during the game: Bills coach Sean McDermott revealed after the match that Taylor had already injured himself during the first play of the game.
More detailed examinations are still pending, but Taylor himself seemed to be extremely buckled and had to be driven off the course. For the rest of the game he was replaced by rookie Nathan Peterman – who had replaced Taylor two weeks ago.
At the time, McDermott voluntarily decided to take the youngster. After a desperate half against the Chargers with five interceptions at 14 passes, McDermott swapped back. A possible injury to Taylor could now give Peterman an unexpectedly early second chance.
For Taylor, it could also mark the end of his Bills era. McDermott and the coach’s staff are obviously not convinced of him, and it is quite likely that the Bills will want to give up the 28-year-old in the spring.
