Ski Alpin: Luitz as outstanding third to the Olympics

Stefan Luitz presented the German ski racers with another podium finish at the end of a remarkable World Cup weekend. In the giant slalom at Beaver Creek in Colorado, USA, the Allgäuer could not claim first place after the first run, but finished third behind world champion Marcel Hirscher (Austria) and Henrik Kristoffersen (Norway/+0.88 seconds) with an outstanding third place (+1.08).

Luitz also fulfilled the Olympic norm with the fifth podium finish of his career. Fritz Dopfer missed out in his second race after a broken leg in 20th place. a further place among the top 15 and therefore the qualification for the games in Pyeongchang.
