Ski Alpin: Schmidhofer races to the podium in the Super-G of Lake Louise

Tina Weirather won the Super-G in Lake Louise on Sunday at the end of the Alpine ski overseas races. The Liechtenstein racer prevailed 0.11 seconds ahead of the Swiss Lara Gut and 0.27 seconds ahead of the Styrian Nicole Schmidhofer.

Cornelia Hütter was in eighth place after 33 runners. Salzburg’s Anna Veith and US superstar Lindsey Vonn retired.

For the 28-year-old Weirather it was the eighth World Cup success, the sixth in the Super-G. In the speed races of Lake Louise she had already landed on the podium seven times since 2011, but no one had yet looked for victory.
