Ski Alpin: Strong RTL comeback from Hirscher

With Marcel Hirscher in third and Manuel Feller in third place at halftime and Manuel Feller on four, Austria’s alpine skiers are in a promising position for the second round of the World Cup giant slalom on Sunday in Beaver Creek.

The German Stefan Luitz holds the lead 0.29 seconds ahead of US-American Ted Ligety, 0.39 seconds ahead of world champion Hirscher and 0.64 seconds ahead of Feller and the Swiss Justin Murisier.

Vice World Champion Roland Leitinger, as well as the speed pilots Hannes Reichelt and Matthias Mayer retired in the first giant slalom on the new material. The opening competition in October in Sölden had been cancelled because of storms. The second round starts at 20.45 CET in the SPOX-LIVETICKER.
