NBA:”Dear Basketball” on the Shortlist: Kobe Bryant beckons an Oscar

Kobe Bryant is waving an Oscar. His animated film “Dear Basketball” put it on the shortlist for the 90. Presentation of the Academy Awards on 4. March 2018 in Los Angeles.

Bryant, five-time NBA champion and two-time Olympic champion, is a screenwriter and producer.

Ten of the original 63 candidates are still on the list, and only five films will be nominated for the award ceremony in Hollywood. Disney artist Glen Keane’s five-minute short film “Dear Basketball” is the adaptation of a poem that Bryant published when he announced his resignation in autumn 2015.

In the spring of 2016, after 20 years in the jersey of the Los Angeles Lakers, the 18-time all-star was retired from the stalls.
